Feline-Focused Care
Exceptional Feline Care in Chesapeake
At Cooke Veterinary Medical Center, we understand that your cat is more than a pet- they’re a beloved member of your family. That’s why our team is committed to providing world-class veterinary care, tailored specifically for the unique needs of feline patients.
Cats are masters at hiding illness and discomfort. We pride ourselves on our ability to spot the subtle signs that others may miss. Our team is trained to notice the smallest details that can make the biggest difference in diagnosing and treating health concerns early, helping your cat live a longer, healthier life.
A Better Life, Together
Our mission is simple: to improve the quality of life for you and your cat. The bond you share is something special, and we believe in creating a true partnership with you in your cat’s care. Whether you’re navigating kittenhood, adulthood, or the senior years, we aim to be a lifelong resource- supporting your cat through every stage with compassion, knowledge, and respect.

Feline Wellness & Longevity
Our unique healthcare model promotes lifelong health, with an emphasis on preventative care and individualized treatment. Every cat is treated with dignity and kindness, because every cat deserves to feel safe and respected- especially in a clinical setting.
We know that veterinary visits can be stressful for both cats and their humans. That’s why we prioritize low-stress handling techniques, create a calm and feline-friendly environment, and offer pharmacologic support when appropriate to ease anxiety.
Specialized Feline Services

Feline Dentistry
Oral health is crucial to your cat’s overall wellbeing. We provide comprehensive dental care including cleanings, digital dental X-rays, extractions, and treatment of periodontal disease- all with feline-specific anesthesia protocols and pain management. Our team is working on a case study for Feline Stomatitis.

Feline Ultrasounds
A safe, non-invasive way to get a detailed look at your cat’s internal organs, helping us diagnose issues like abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, or urinary problems. This quick imaging procedure allows our veterinary team to provide accurate answers and targeted care without the need for surgery.

Biopsies and Testing
When a more definitive diagnosis is needed, we offer precise and minimally invasive biopsy procedures. These are performed with your cat’s comfort in mind and can be essential for diagnosing skin lesions, internal masses, or chronic unexplained illnesses. These
